Discover how to change your life

Do you feel a little bit stuck?  Does it often feel like you’re plodding along from one day to the next with a pervasive sense of dissatisfaction with the way your life has turned out?  You’re certainly not alone.  Many of us have found ourselves in a long-term rut, and it can feel very difficult to change your life for the better.  While it may not be easy, it’s also not all that complicated, and there are just a few keys to success.

First, the key to succeeding at any worthwhile endeavor is persistence.  If you’re looking to improve your financial situation, lose excess fat, enhance your career opportunities or begin a completely new career, start a business, learn to play a musical instrument, or anything else like those examples, it’s helpful to keep one thing in mind:  we have a universal tendency to seriously overestimate what we can accomplish in one year, and seriously underestimate what we can achieve in five years.

That fact has an important consequence:  you have to enjoy the daily practice of working toward your goals.  If you’re not having fun, then it will be a constant battle to put in the required daily effort for years on end to achieve something worthwhile.  If your commitment is forced, and there is little joy in your labor, the odds are overwhelmingly against your attaining success.

Your mindset also has to be consistently positive and self-sustaining.  If you’re not naturally a positive person, you can learn how to do meditation to help replace your negative stream of thoughts with a more  positive message.  Otherwise, your negativity will undoubtedly work against your efforts at positive change.  Because it often takes so long to see meaningful results in any worthwhile endeavor, you have to get good at being your own cheering section.  It’s already too easy to give up, so it’s important to get your  mind working for you instead of against you.
