Beauty Sleep Remedies
Sleep deprivation is a common problem that can effect as many as one in five people, chronic sleep deprivation can lead to fatigue and mood swings. It seems that night time is when all of our underlying anxieties come to the surface and our brain just can’t seem to deal with them leaving us feeling tired and irritable and unable to face the day. When we are feeling this way its all to easy to reach for the sleeping tablets for relief, but the problem is that the side effects of sleeping pills can be very damaging to our health in the long term. We all need our sleep for well being and in helping to restore our natural beauty hence why it’s called beauty sleep, before you reach for the sleeping tablets you may want to consider some of the following tips which may help to naturally induce a good nights sleep:
- Try to establish why you aren’t sleeping maybe something is on your mind that is worrying you, once you get to the root of the cause and identify the reason why you aren’t sleeping you can deal with it more effectively
- Avoid any stimulants before you sleep such as alcohol or nicotine, as stimulants will only keep you wired and prevent you from sleeping. Try to avoid taking caffeine in any form after lunch time so it has time to work out of your system before you go to sleep
- Create a haven of calm in your bedroom by blocking out any intrusive noise, being distracted whilst trying to sleep sends messages to the brain to keep you alert, which can cause poor quality sleep
- Block morning light with curtains or blinds as external light can interrupt sleeping patterns, black out curtains are ideal but if this is not possible invest in a sleeping mask instead.
- The best natural beauty tips if you are having problems getting a good nights sleep is to partake in some form of exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. An aerobic exercise one that gets your heart rate pumping is the best form, it is important to note however that any intense aerobic activity should be undertaken in the morning and only gentle exercise carried out in the evening such as walking to help you wind down
- Finally if you are still having problems switching off try using breathing and visualization techniques to help you relax. Once you have cleared your mind and created a blank canvas you can then visualize yourself in a peaceful environment or some where you enjoy being that will help to still your mind and relax helping to promote a good nights sleep.
Your sleep time is very valuable and should not be dismissed easily, it’s an important time giving your body chance to renew and repair, which is why it is important that you ensure you are getting anywhere between 8 to 10 hours sleep a night, in order to help you feel invigorated and revitalized and ready to face the day.
